VESTLANDSUTSTILLINGEN 2016
touring exhibition at Kunsthuset Kabuso, Øystese 23.01 - 21.02.2016 / Sogn og Fjordane Kunstmuseum, Førde 05.03 - 03.04.2016 / Kunstmuseet KUBE, Ålesund 29.04 - 22.05 / Kunsthall Stavanger, Stavanger 10.06 - 10.07.2016, Norway

Lokale Forhandlingar

NORDIC MUSIC DAYS
exhibition at Christian IV’s brewhouse, Copenhagen, Denmark 24.09 - 30.09.2015

The common thread in Nordic Music Days 2015 is to explore new concert formats of contemporary classical music in an unconventional setting. The program ranges from contemporary chamber opera, pop, electronic music, jazz and choral music to sound art, performance, conceptual music and improvisation.

The art works shown are large scale installations with substantial visual elements, yet with sound as the central element bringing a wide range of materials into play. The audience will encounter a greenhouse with electro magnetic plants, record players that seem to have come alive, explorations of the relation between voice and identity and much more. Each art work constitutes its own micro universe exploring and visualising the formation, processing and transmission of sound.

The exhibition is set in the empty attics above Kongernes Lapidarium, and the architecture of Christian IV's Brewhouse, one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen, serves as a spectacular backdrop to the contemporary sound art.

PARADOXES OF A DIAMOND
solo exhibition at the Natural History Museum, Musei Civici, Venice, Italy 04.08 - 16.08.2015

Opening: 04.08 at 10.00am - 18.00pm.

Paradoxes of a Diamond explores the history of Venice’s lagoon leading to a contemporary ecological perspective, and uses the algae as a legitimate biological indicator à of the lagoon's environmental state. It investigates the heavy metal contamination level of three algae species (Ulva rigida, Gracilaria gracilis and Sargassum muticum) in the lagoon environment, their accumulation of carbon dioxide and their “utility” as a reservoir of carbon.

Paradoxes of a Diamond was developed with support of Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) and Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice, Italy. The project, curated by Rachel D'Osualdo and Sabina Basset, was conducted in collaboration with Adriano Sfriso and Alessandro Buosi, at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics at the University Ca' Foscari in Venice, and Paola Del Negro and Francesca Malfatti of the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics in Trieste. Thanks to the EM facility at the Univeristy of Studies of Trieste and Favini Srl for their generous support.
